The Vertiflore system in detail
Our process is based on galvanized steel baskets, wrapped in a rot-proof M1 mat and filled with a specific substrate. This substrate, similar to topsoil and with no need for additional nutrients, ensures plant durability by promoting optimal root development while requiring little water. To guarantee uniform irrigation over the entire wall surface, we integrate an automatic watering system with remote control, equipped with a line of drippers.
System composition

Baskets
These are wire mesh cages (made of 4.8 mm wire such as GRAPAL or galvan wire from ARCELOR), 1 m long overall, 37 cm high and 12 cm deep as standard. Vertiflore allows each tray to be dismantled individually, at any point on the wall surface. The trays are fastened to the rail by hooks attached to the tray, with waits on the back of the tray that lock directly into the lower tray. Covered with a rot-proof hydrating mat based on black thermo-bonded plastic fibers, the film has an M1 fire resistance rating and a high tear strength (20 Dn lengthwise, 12 Dn widthwise).
The substrate
Our substrate, designed in collaboration with the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), enables the plant to effectively establish its root system, creating a real bacterial life with the microbial exchanges necessary for its development. Each plant benefits from 5 liters of soil, and the addition of fertilizer is not necessary for it to flourish. The substrate is 55% mineral, with a density of less than 0.8. The mineral part is reinforced with 8% palygorskite-type hydro-retainer and 37% bacterial leaven and organic retardant fertilizer. Recognized for its low water consumption (from 0.3l to 2.5l / m2 / day). Our growing medium excludes sphagnum moss, peat and expanded polystyrene.

The watering system
The Vertiflore watering system uses a dense drip network with drippers spaced 40 cm apart vertically and 15 cm apart horizontally. This ensures balanced irrigation across the entire wall, optimizing watering times and saving water by supplying each plant with just what it needs. Watering is managed by a programmer that controls solenoid valves located in a technical room. Our walls are connected via a remote management system (PRO HC from HUNTER), providing daily feedback and alerts in the event of a problem.
Fastening systems

Fixing to load-bearing wall
The rails are fastened to the wall using anchor bolts, and are suspended from the load-bearing wall at two points. Their main function is to support the bins. Designed in our factory with a template according to wall width and construction drawings. They leave a 6 cm air gap between the load-bearing wall and the plant wall, ensuring ventilation between the wall and the planter. The rail is made of hot-dip galvanized S235 steel, magnelis type, 310 g/m2 from ARCELOR. It is 2.5 mm thick.
Wall mounting with external insulation
Where external insulation is used, we install galvanized steel brackets. These brackets support the omegas, which are arranged vertically. They are fastened using a system of bolts and nuts. The omegas are mechanically fastened to the rails using self-drilling screws. The omegas are made of 310 g/m2 magnelis S235 steel from ARCELOR. Adapted to suit specific plans, they have a standard length of 2.4 m and a footprint of 6 cm. Sheet thickness is 2.5 mm in hot-dip galvanized steel.
Self-supporting wall mounting
When the wall cannot support the plant wall, we install IPNs fixed to the ground (with the possibility of adding anti-tilt points to reduce the size of the IPNs). These IPNs are machined before galvanizing to support the Vertiflore system's rails, and are assembled using bolts and nuts.
