Compliance with funeral standards and customization of planted columbaria

At TRACER, we design planted columbaria that strictly comply with the standards of each cemetery. We are committed to adapting our installations to local conditions, working closely with cemetery authorities and managers. Each columbarium is custom-designed to combine technical innovation, respect for funeral traditions and harmonious integration into the urban environment, ensuring safety, durability and aesthetics.

Our columbariums in detail

Our columbaria are made from galvanized steel baskets, lined with a rot-proof M1 mat and filled with a special substrate. For the compartments intended for funeral urns, we integrate aluminum urns and doors to close the openings, offering a solution perfectly adapted to the requirements of modern cemeteries.

System composition

Baskets
These are wire-mesh cages (made of 4.8 mm GRAPAL or galvanized ARCELOR wire), 1 m long overall, 37 cm high and 12 cm deep as standard. Vertiflore allows each bin to be dismantled individually, anywhere on the columbarium surface. The trays are attached to the rail by hooks, with expectations on the back of the tray that lock directly into the lower tray. Covered with a rot-proof hydrating mat made from black thermo-bonded plastic fibers, the film has an M1 fire resistance rating and a high tear strength (20 Dn lengthwise, 12 Dn widthwise).

The substrate
Our substrate, designed in conjunction with the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), enables the plant to develop its root system efficiently, creating a veritable bacterial life with the microbial exchanges necessary for its development. Each plant benefits from 5 liters of soil, and the addition of fertilizer is not necessary for it to flourish. The substrate is 55% mineral, with a density of less than 0.8. The mineral part is reinforced by 8% palygorskite-type hydro-retainer and 37% bacterial leaven and organic retardant fertilizer. Renowned for its low water consumption (from 0.3 l to 2.5 l / m² / day), our growing medium excludes sphagnum moss, peat and expanded polystyrene.

Urns
Each urn, in the shape of a cube open on one side, is specially designed to hold funeral urns. Made of aluminum, they are secured to the rail by hooks attached to the back of the lower tray, ensuring a sturdy, stable installation.

Doors
Doors play a crucial role in the secure closure of urns. They are positioned in front of the urns and carefully sealed around their edges, guaranteeing maximum integrity and security.

Fastening system

Self-supporting wall mounting
We use floor-mounted IPNs, with the option of adding anti-tilt points to reinforce their stability. These IPNs are machined before galvanizing to guarantee the strength required to support the Vertiflore system's rails, and are assembled using bolts and nuts. The rails are attached to the IPNs using anchor bolts, and suspended from the IPNs at two points. Their main role is to support the bins. Each rail is manufactured in our factory according to a template adapted to the width of the planted columbarium and to the execution plans. They provide adequate ventilation thanks to a 6 cm air gap between the IPNs and the plant structure. Manufactured in hot-dip galvanized Magnelis S235 steel with a 310 g/m² coating from ARCELOR, the 2.5 mm thick rails guarantee optimum durability and resistance.
